Movie Props Tutorial — Torches

Hey everyone, Erik here.  Not Literally is currently gearing up for our Ravenclaws shoot, and we’re in need of some real torches to use as set decorations on set.   Luckily for all you pyrotechnics fans, I’m going to teach you how to make your own!  It’s actually a fairly easy process that can be done in about an hour or so.  Here’s a list of things you’ll need:

1.  Aluminum tubing – found at your local hardware store
2.  Small screws
3.  Kevlar Wicking
4.  Kevlar Rope
5.  Coleman Camp Fuel
6.  Screwdriver

Once one has all the supplies assembled, making the torch is a piece of cake.   Just follow the step by step instructions in the video above and enjoy your handy work in your next film or live action production!  As for me, I have a lot of other props and gear to assemble for Ravenclaws, so I’m going to get back to work.   Let me know what other tutorials you would like to see in the YouTube comments!  Oh, and a big thanks to Guillermo Roqués for helping me shoot this tutorial!  Check him out on Vimeo!
