Ginny is Leaving Not Literally

Ginny is Leaving Not Literally

After founding Not Literally in the summer of 2011 with Dana and Erik, followed by more than two years of increasingly exciting projects, I have made the personal decision to move on from Not Literally and into another chapter of my life.

Don’t panic yet! I’ll be staying on in a partial capacity until late summer, to do my personal best to ensure, to the degree that I can, that all promised projects are released on the timeline we originally intended — and I’ll still be attending some cons this summer with Not Literally.

Starfest — May 2-4, 2014
Denver Comic Con — June 13-15, 2014
LeakyCon Orlando — July 31-Aug 3, 2014
MALCon Denver — Aug 8-10, 2014

The last two years have shown me that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to, and I cannot quantify how much I’ve learned and grown through the experiences we’ve had as a company. My time with Not Literally will always be a part of who I am and an important part of my past.

Those of you who follow my personal pages will know that I have more interests and passions than there are hours in the day to pursue them. I’m so thankful that through Not Literally, I was able to share those interests and passions and bring joy and humor to our viewers. I hope to continue spreading joy and humor in what I see as a limitless, undefined future.

Thank you, each and every one of you, for making the last two years the most amazing years of my life. What Not Literally does would be impossible without you. I can’t wait to see you out on the rolling green hills of the internet as we continue to cross passionate, geeky paths with each other.

♥ Ginny

  4. That wasn’t very good news. You are a great performer, and were a huge part of Not Literally, so you will be truly missed! But I’m glad for your sake, that you chose to follow your own goals in life. :)

  7. Happy that you’re getting new opprotunities in life – sad that you’re leaving.
What does this mean for Ask Hogwarts?
More so than Not Literally’s other Q&A videos, I think Ask Hogwarts is more than just a funny little comedy. It’s about reminding us what’s good (and bad) about each of the four houses, and reminding us that we each have a little bit of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin in us. It’s more than one person (and just maybe even more than two characters).
Ask Hogwarts was the reason I started watching Not Literally videos, and I’m not sure what us Harry Potter fans will have left if it doesn’t continue in some capacity.
Except the Ravenclaw pride video. OMG the Ravenclaw pride video is coming soon! Yay!

          • Ravenclaw is da best :)

Hopefully you could stay on for Ask Hogwarts because they are usually uploaded every 14 days although I’m not sure how long it actually takes to record them but I’ll guess that the first part of those days is choosing the two questions (<– someone else can do this) and then rehearsing the answers (someone else can write it) and then a day in the middle for recording and then the rest of it is just editing am I right? also what song is smarter going to be a parody of?(btw I'll miss you :D)

      • I know this is really late but I’m so sad you left, I’ve always listened to your parodies and you have great voices (I’m listening to we r Slytherins)

  8. We’ll miss the not literally music videos and ask-hogwarts! I hope your next project, whatever it is, achieves the same level of awesome geekness. And I hope you manage to come out to the northeast at some point — Arisia is a great con, we’d love to have you visit :)

You will be truly missed. I started watching your videos when leakycon mentioned one of your projects while I was anxiously awaiting my first convention. I’m happy I got to meet both of you on the last day and the picture of you holding my service dog is one of my favorite moments to relive from Portland. I hope you enjoy the next adventures life brings your way. Do you have a personal channel you will still post on and we can subscribe to?
